“ I visited Morrison’s 3 times this month so far.Thursday the 16th I ordered the pepper steak with rice,string beans & potatoes with cabbage as well. I returned on Saturday January 18th 2025 for smothered pork chops,rice & gravy with dressing & cabbage. Both times the customer service was superb & the food was even better. Thursday I dealt with Rashaud,he was very helpful & knowledgeable about the food which was displayed & what would go best together,he didn’t steer me wrong. The flavor of the pepper steak exploded in my mouth & the meat was so tender & the portions were nice,I had leftovers for the next day. Same great customer service Saturday,Randy greeted me right away & was very patient with me because I was undecided then I had to step away to take a phone call but when I step back in line he immediately took care of me,next I met Katrina so I can get my sides & she was just as pleasant as Randy. My last day was today the 24th & I was greeted by Vince,of course I wasn’t sure what to get but Vince was patient & very pleasant with me,for me Vince had a winning personality that I could vibe with,I asked his opinion on the slushy drinks which he told me his favorite mix & he didn’t steer me wrong,the slushy was delicious.I’m not new to Morrison’s I used to eat there when they were on 80th & Ashland but I’m glad they’ve moved closer to where I live now in East Hyde Park. My food was seasoned to perfection,I didn’t have to add anything. I’ve never had a problem with the employees nor my food. I’m a happy customer & I love the new place,it’s very inviting,keep up the good work you all ”

“ The food was outstanding at Morrison's Soul food. The fried fish was a big hit with large portions and seasoned just right. Mac & cheese reminded me of my Public High school days! Candy Yams were not too sweet, and the greens were very flavourful. This was my first time there and definitely not my last. You have to try the peach cobbler too. ”
“ I'm giving Morrison's Soul Food a (5 Star) because the food is normally very good. However, yesterday is a (1 Star) for me. I purchased the Oxtail meal and they were too spicy. I know a lot of people love spice. I'm on the side of no spice at all. Customers should be informed a dish is spicy. I could not taste the oxtails over the spiciness of it. Because my mouth was on fire, the whole meal tasted like cayenne pepper. I could not eat my meal and considered it a waste of my money. I've never had spicy food from there and I will ask from this point on. You spice lovers, go for it, but customers should be informed by the restaurant that a food item is spicy and they should not assume everybody love spicy food. ”

“ I ordered via Door-dash, when my dasher arrived with only one of my orders... I called the restaurant and the owner answered she was adamant about correcting my order and even paid the dash 30 to return to the restaurant and correct my order! Talk about customer service! Food was DELICIOUS! Turkey wings and short ribs are super tender!! ”
“ I feel like I was treated like royalty. This staff were great and very inviting. The music was phenomenal as well. From the moment I walked in, I feel like I had been there before. The nostalgic feeling was probably due to the music and fantastic decorations. There is much food to choose from. I chose the jerked chicken wings, candied yams, and greens with turkey. I like that the candied yams were very favorable but not over the top sweet. I don’t want to feel like the food is so sweet and over the top that I need to go work out as soon as I finish eating. I think the prices are very reasonable. Be sure to bring cash to tip with because you cannot tip off a credit card. Definitely support this. You can be your authentic self there. ”
“ Food was delish and showed up faster than expected. Food was still warm and fresh. Didn’t have all the sides we originally ordered but they called and told us what they had (granted we did order late) and they still turned out great. Would highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be ordering again. ”
